| This past weekend the holidays started off with a stylish bang as more
than 90 vintage vendors filled Plumber Hall for the annual Randolph
Street Holiday Market. While the stalls were packed with their
consistently exciting inventory of glittering jewelry and chic apparel,
this month we were on the hunt for something to make our holiday parties
pop. In addition to a variety of vintage barware, silver place
settings, and antique holiday decorations, we found ourselves drawn to
the many local food vendors selling artisanal treats and the furniture
dealers showing off perfect statement pieces that would be the talk of
any holiday party. |

| Bachelor's Button Vintage is the perfectly curated place to find
beautiful items for the home ranging from the Jazz Age (1914-1928) and
Depression Era (1929-1945), going back as far as the Gilded Age
(1878-1889). These three sisters have pulled from their grandmother's
collections and mom's former stash of vintage goodies when she too ran
an antique store in the 60's while attending Art Institute of Chicago.
Art Deco/Art Nouveau china and Depression glass are their specialties. |

| It’s fall, which means it’s time to go back to school– even for fashion
lovers. So this weekend at the Randolph Street Market’s Modern Vintage
show we attended our favorite class, Fall Trends 101. With more than 70
vendors on-hand and local style experts perusing the market picking out
their favorite finds, there was no shortage of insider tips on what’s
hot this season and what to look for when shopping vintage. Here’s a
little bit about what we learned from these connoisseurs of couture. |
